Emergency plumbing

Water leaking right now? Call (647) 428-0007. A burst pipe, a failed supply line or a floor drain backing up into the basement. CSG has its own licensed and insured plumbers across Toronto, so the company that stops the leak and fixes the pipe is the same one that extracts the water, dries the structure and documents everything for your insurer. One call, one crew, and no waiting between a plumber and a restoration company.

We answer Monday to Friday 9am to 8pm and Saturday 9am to 4pm. When you call, we’ll tell you honestly when a plumber can get to you.

What to do before we get there

  1. Shut off the water. Close the main shut-off valve, usually where the water line comes into the house, often in the basement near the front wall. In a condo, call building management or security: they can shut off the riser.
  2. Stay away from water near the electrical panel, outlets or appliances. If the power can’t be shut off safely, call Toronto Hydro.
  3. Move what you can off the wet floor, and take photos and video of the water and the source for your insurance claim.
  4. Call us at (647) 428-0007. Tell us where the water is coming from and whether the power is safe.

Emergency plumbing we handle

Our plumbing team handles the jobs that put water where it shouldn’t be.

Burst and leaking pipes

We find the leak, stop it and repair or replace the damaged section of pipe.

Failed supply lines and valves

Washing machine hoses, toilet and sink supply lines and shut-off valves that have split or let go.

Toilet and fixture leaks

Overflowing toilets and leaking sinks, tubs and showers, and the water they left behind.

Backed-up floor drains

Floor drains and sewer backups cleared, then the sewage cleaned up and the area sanitised.

Sump pump failures

Failed or overwhelmed sump pumps repaired or replaced, with a battery backup if you want one.

Backwater valves

Backwater valves installed to stop sewage coming back up through the floor drain.

Why one company for the plumbing and the water damage

With most plumbing emergencies you call a plumber, wait for the leak to be fixed, then call a restoration company and wait again while the water soaks further into drywall, insulation and subfloor. Every hour counts: Health Canada advises drying a home within 48 hours to limit mould. When CSG takes the call, the plumbing repair and the water extraction happen in the same visit, by one team.

  • Leak fixed and standing water extracted on the first visit, with our own equipment
  • Moisture readings, photos and drying logs for your claim
  • One estimate written in Xactimate, with direct billing to all insurers
  • Repairs after drying, from drywall to flooring, by the same company. See water damage repair.

Plumbing emergencies in condos

In a condo, a leak rarely stays in one suite. Water from a failed supply line or a unit above can reach the ceilings and walls of the suites below, and responsibility is split between owners, the condo corporation and their insurers. Call building management first so they can shut off the riser. CSG is condo-board approved and works within building rules on access, elevator bookings and working hours. Our condo water damage checklist explains who to call and when.

Stop the next flood: backwater valves and sump pumps

Most Toronto basement floods come in through the floor drain during heavy rain, or from a sump pump that fails when it’s needed most. A backwater valve stops sewage flowing back into the house, and a sump pump with a battery backup keeps groundwater out. Our plumbing team installs both. Since May 2026 the City of Toronto’s Basement Flooding Protection Subsidy Program covers 80% of eligible work, up to $6,650 per property. The program has conditions, so check them before work starts. If the basement has already flooded, see basement flood restoration and sewer backup restoration.

What does emergency plumbing cost?

A plumbing repair is priced once we’ve found the cause, and we never do extra work without your written approval. If water got into the structure, extraction and drying are priced separately, typically:

Situation What’s involved Typical cost
One area, clean water, caught early Extraction, drying, dehumidification $1,500 – $3,000
Several rooms, clean or grey water Extraction, drying, antimicrobial treatment, wet drywall removed $3,000 – $5,500

Sewage and whole-floor losses are priced after inspection. Our Toronto water damage cost guide covers the full range, cost per square foot and what insurance usually pays for.

Water in the house right now? Call (647) 428-0007. We answer Monday to Friday 9am to 8pm and Saturday 9am to 4pm. Or send photos of the damage and we’ll call you back.

Do you have your own plumbers?

Yes. CSG has its own licensed and insured plumbers working across Toronto, so we can fix the leak and deal with the water damage in the same visit, without bringing in another company.

What should I do first when a pipe bursts?

Shut off the water at the main valve, or in a condo call building management to shut off the riser. Keep away from water near the electrical panel or outlets, take photos for your insurer, then call us at (647) 428-0007.

How fast can you get to me?

Call us during our service hours, Monday to Friday 9am to 8pm and Saturday 9am to 4pm, and we’ll give you an honest arrival time for a plumber on the phone. Outside those hours, leave a message or send the form and we’ll call you first thing.

Does insurance cover a burst pipe?

Sudden and accidental water damage, such as a burst pipe or a failed supply line, is usually covered. Policies often treat the water damage differently from the cost of the pipe repair itself, so check your own policy. We write estimates in Xactimate and bill all insurers directly.

Can you install a backwater valve or a sump pump?

Yes, our plumbing team installs both. Since May 2026 the City of Toronto’s Basement Flooding Protection Subsidy Program covers 80% of eligible work, up to $6,650 per property, for eligible homeowners.

Do you handle plumbing leaks in condos?

Yes. We’re condo-board approved and work within building rules on access, elevator bookings and working hours. Call building management first so they can shut off the riser, then call us.
